INDUSTRY ANALYST, ENTERPRISE GROUP

Current Analysis, Inc. based in Sterling, VA is the leading provider of tactical competitive intelligence response services and solutions to the technology, IT, consumer electronics and telecom industries.  We currently seek an Industry Analyst to work in our Enterprise Group covering business intelligence, event, content and business process management, data integration, and database technology markets. Qualified candidates should have market knowledge and/or technical expertise in these areas, a proven ability to identify market trends and weigh the relative strengths and weaknesses of companies and products while delivering high quality analysis under tight deadlines. The goal is to deliver intelligence that alerts and helps sales professionals respond to competitive threats and opportunities, and gives end users insight into the strengths and weaknesses of competing products/strategies.



Companies covered include, but are not limited to EMC, IDS Scheer, Pegasystems, Open Text, SAS, Teradata, IBM, Informatica, Sun, Netezza and Oracle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Deliver intelligence and analysis that enables our clients to respond to competitive threats and opportunities, and gives end users insight into the strengths and weaknesses of competing vendors and their offerings.Track and analyze significant announcements made by data management vendors for web-based distribution to our global client base of sales teams, marketing professionals, product managers and executives. Content production includes factual and qualitative comparisons of BPM, DQM, database, ECM, BI, DW and GRC solutions including product features, market information, sales tactics, and end-user buying criteria.Attend industry trade shows and infrastructure vendor briefings in order to stay on top of market trends and developments.  Leverage these occasions to deliver market briefings, client seminars and public presentations.   Serve as a backup for other application infrastructure analysis generated by Current Analysis, in particular the middleware software and services governance and management as well as collaboration and productivity market segments.  Assist with peer review of content to ensure consistency and quality of analysis.

 

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:Extensive knowledge of and/or experience in the data and process management markets with a particular focus on DM, BI, BPM,  and ECM solutions. Three to five years experience as an analyst, technical writer, journalist, marketing or product management in data management. Proven written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Public speaking and/or sales presentation experience.Demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.Effective prioritization and time management skills.Bachelor’s Degree required.
