IT Project Services - Operations Manager

PROJECT SERVICES – OPERATIONS MANAGER

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

inhouseIT is an IT Services company that specializes in providing IT services to small and medium businesses.  Our services include: Outsource IT, Helpdesk, Managed Services, Network Audits, IT Projects, IT Strategic Planning and IP Telephony Systems.  The company is headquartered in Costa Mesa California and services the Orange County metro area.

 DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The inhouseIT Project Services Department is responsible for infrastructure projects in our client environments.  The group is led by an Operations Manager who ideally is a very well rounded individual with operational, communication and technical skills.  The Project Services Department performs the following types of projects: Exchange 2007, Citrix Presentation Server, Active Directory, Small Business Server, MPLS VPN, VMware and Network related projects.  The team is comprised of 8 professional engineers and a project coordinator.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a member of the Management Team this positions primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organization's Project Services Department.

· Project /Practice Management

o  Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects

o  Oversees engineers working on client engagements within practice

o  Reviews high-level deliverables across all projects

o  Ensures engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with our methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of engagements

o  Minimizes our exposure and risk across multiple projects

o  Possesses a thorough understanding of our service offerings, technical preferences, and technical direction

o  Assists in the evaluation and redesign of practice offerings

· Project Accounting

o  Ensures accurate invoicing pre and post project

o  Reviews financial data for practice and seeks ways to maximize revenue

o  Analyzes profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization across projects

o  Addresses elevated billing issues when they arise

· Internal Operations

o  Easily recognizes areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation

o  Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces

o  Reviews the status reports of team members across projects and addresses issues as appropriate

o  Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONSExcellent people managerAt least 10 years experience in Operations Management Prior experience working for a technology/services based companyStrong background and work experience in Finance Open to direction and a collaborative work styleExcellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word and outlookExcellent communication skills both verbal and written Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practicesDemonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiativesExcellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management styleA demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment Commitment to get the job done Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

· BS/BA Degree

· Certified Project Manager

· Certifications:  MCSE, MCP, CCA, CCNA or other technical related certifications
