Currently, CEB provides its integrated set of services to a network of more than 10,000 senior leaders at more than 2,800 companies worldwide.  With more than 80% of the Fortune 500 as members, we have built one of the world’s premier executive networks with practices in broad functional areas including communications, human resources, finance & financial services, legal, operations, sales & marketing, strategy, and technology. The Lead Database Administrator would oversee a team of junior and senior DBAs.  As well, the Lead DBA would oversee the management of production databases for our member-facing web sites as well as various internal data stores.  These databases are exclusively on Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 technologies.  The Lead DBA would ensure SQL code and data reaches production safely and that the production systems are managed in a world-class manner.  The Lead DBA will oversee the career and resource management for a 5-person team, as well as managing various contractors doing project –related work Please read below for details. Please visit our website at www.executiveboard.com for more information.  The Corporate Executive Board is an EOE Primary Responsibilities/Objectives  · Architecting, designing and implementing Microsoft SQL database systems· Writing complex T-SQL/Store Procedures to do daily job.· Responsible for the overall health of CEB’s production databases· Maintaining clean databases· Understanding user group schemas· Administering database security architecture· Optimizing application queries and database indices· Identifying and minimizing the effects of "expensive" database operations· Formulating contingency plans for data recovery in the event of a loss· Creating backup schemes for itemized recovery and whole-sale recovery· Scheduling DBCC’s (realloc, newalloc, checkdb, etc.) at appropriate intervals· Creating performance monitors for relevant objects· Building triggers & stored procedures Core Competencies·  Team leadership·  Strong written and verbal communication skills· Attention to detail· 7 Years database administration experience (MS SQL Server preferred)  · Deep knowledge of SQL commands and functionality· Expert knowledge of Relational Databases [Microsoft’s SQL Server 2000/2005 MCDBA preferred]· Thorough knowledge and understanding of Windows 2000/2003· Experience w/ Clustered SQL Servers is plus· Experience w/ SQL Reporting Server· Experience in contingency planning and recovery· dB design - table structure/normal form · dB design tools preferred – (Erwin/Visual InterDev - prototyping to actual)· Full understanding of backup methodologies· Proven ability to setup, manage and maintain large scale databases.·  Backup and Recovery ·  Login Maintenance·  Data and Log Space Maintenance·  Replication· Query Optimization and Index Tuning· Database design and optimization · Understands triggers, stored procs and views· Ability to translate business needs into technical reality Desired Skills· Experience with clustered servers· Data warehousing experience· MS SQL Server 2000 experience (MCDBA)· MS SQL Server 2005 experience (MCDBA preferred)· Database Design and Optimization· Experience with data cleansing/transformation/ETL tools· Ability to juggle the needs of competing customer groups· Interest in new technology, ideas
