Manager, Payables

This includes: Invoice entering, review, posting Creating new vendors & W-9 follow up Incoming research & requests from the field offices and Operations departments Incoming research & requests from vendors Review & Selection of invoices to be paid Printing of checks and preparation for release Preparation & distribution of reports Research into AP industry practices Other – as needed The overall purpose is to provide an accurate representation of all Accounts Payable postings which will post timely and accurately to the General Ledger in each accounting period. Prevent duplicate and other erroneous postings and reporting to Accounts Payable and further prevent erroneous payments. Ongoing testing and development of existing systems and exploration of other systems available, with the perpetual goal of streamlining work and maximizing efficiency of the department. Supervise the T&E Clerk.   Qualifications: Associates Degree in Accounting or a related field. Preferred Customer Service experience. An understanding of or direct experience in Accounts Receivable. Ability to network with other financial professionals. Previous supervisory experience. Have an understanding and compliance of business rules and practices of Accounts Payable (example: 1099 compliance rules). Audit experience preferred, in conjunction with developed recognition skills, and assist with a reduction in duplicative reporting/posting/payment. Essential Skills: Epicor eBackoffice version 7.3 – used daily MS Excel or other spreadsheet programs – used daily MS Word – for correspondence and reporting; used daily Platinum for Windows version 4.8 – archival AP system, used several times/week Pinacle for Windows/PNC Bank – used daily Fusion Import tool – e-invoice import module, used several times/week WS_FTP PRO: FTP Upload tool – used daily for Positive Pay reporting Adobe Reader 6.0 or higher – creating reports, used daily. Internal Revenue Service standards on W-9 affidavits and 1099 reporting – in tandem with internal tax department assistance.
