Marketing Communications Director
Overview:
The Marketing Communications Director will direct the development and implementation of the organization's marketing communications programs by working with marketing and sales to plan and create strategies, tactics, activities, and materials for the purpose of conveying the most positive marketing message to target markets in support of the organization's initiatives. The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring that marketing materials and communications position Concur and its services for high visibility with customers, partners, trade associations, outside vendors, and media audiences.
Reports to the EVP of Worldwide Marketing. This position may be based from any of our following centers of excellence: Redmond, WA, Dallas TX, Eden Prairie MN, or Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the development and implementation of the organization's marketing communications programs:
o Develops and executes plans for the design, writing and production of marketing communications materials.
o Oversees the logistics of packaging and distributing marketing materials.
o Ensures that marketing materials position the organization for high visibility.
o Create a highly productive working relationship with sales and product marketing teams to create all materials needed to drive sales, i.e., plan and create strategies, tactics, activities and materials for the purpose of conveying the most positive marketing message to target markets.
o Coordinate with Product Marketing to manage communications activities for launches and support efforts to ensure appropriate messaging delivery to sales.
o Monitor, develop and create messaging to sales and leadership team on items in the news, analyst research and Software as a Service industry.
• Direct activities of marketing managers:
o Oversees activities of lower level management (i.e., hires, coaches, rewards, motivates).
o Work with management team to effectively set work standards, priorities and schedules.
• Work with public relations and advertising to ensure the company is widely and positively represented in the general business press and industry and vertical market publications, as well as keeping industry analysts informed of new service offerings.
• Initiates both creative and strategic sessions internally as well as with external agencies to implement advertising and PR campaigns.
• Coordinates any outsourced marketing activities as they relate to area of responsibility.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience & Training required:
• Substantial experience and proven track record in marketing communications, including several years in a MarCom management role. Director level MarCom experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in business or marketing.
• MBA preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check.
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
• Demonstrated experience building a world class brand and marketing communications strategy.
• Experience in delivery of effective advertising and PR strategies and campaigns.
• Proven leadership skills and experience developing superior marketing communications teams.
• Experience marketing B2B technology products or services preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally.
