Mid-Level Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
NES is a worldwide leader in clandestine drug health and safety training. NES provides law enforcement agency training on illegal drug manufacturing throughout the U.S. and we provide training at the Federal Justice Training Center located at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. NES provides a basic clandestine lab school certification course and advanced lab school curriculum. Additionally, NES supports the National Guard Counter Drug training program throughout the U.S.
NES is located in Folsom, California which is nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills, located an hour and a half from the Napa wine country and Lake Tahoe. The Folsom area has selected historical attributes, which include the states second largest rockery (Lake Natoma) and the number one recreationally used river in the U.S. (the American River). The greater Folsom area is also known for its affordable standard of living.
We are looking for a Mid-Level Environmental Health & Safety Specialist. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, a technical aptitude and be computer literate, energetic, self-motivated, and dependable; teams oriented and maintain a professional appearance. Position requires BS degree, 1-10 years experience. EH&S professional certification, project management, and business development skills. Travel and background check to include a clean driving record required.
Fieldwork may include: To assist project/client managers by performing technical project tasks that include fieldworkConducting research/assessmentsEnvironmental and Industrial Hygiene monitoring by collecting samples or operating direct read instruments as well as collecting air/wipe/bulk samples for analysis
Projects may include:Personal/community exposure monitoring for physical, biological and chemical hazards.Providing EH&S training and program consulting servicesNaturally Occurring Asbestos, Mold, Clandestine Lab and IAQ AssessmentsEnvironmental health & safety surveys/audits and program development such as EAP, IIPP, HMBP, Confined Space Entry Programs, SPCC Plans, SWPP Programs, Hazardous Waste Management Plans, Regulatory Permits, Emergency Response Programs, Contingency Planning
Technical duties will include:Provide guidance to technical staffParticipate in EH&S trainingDevelop compliance programs for clientsExpand working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
Business Development Duties:Participate in business development efforts by providing superior customer service, estimating and scoping project work, participating in seminars and conferences.
