PMO/Project Management Lead with Financial Services exp. a must

The PMO Lead is a hands-on role responsible for leading a distributed PMO staff overseeing and contributing to the creation of all PMO deliverables (e.g. Project Management Standards and Controls, PMO Scorecard and Project Stakeholder Reports), conducting key stakeholder interviews, facilitating PMO Stakeholder Meetings, monitoring overall PMO processes, standards and controls, providing PM training and mentoring, assessing specific project data and advising and coaching PMs to improve compliance. This role is intended to be performed in NYC, with some periodic travel required.

 

 

Skills and experience required to perform this role effectively include: 

 Experience establishing and operating 3 or more PMOs, with emphasis on project-level analysis, reporting, and mentoring.Strong hands-on experience managing software development projects (as Project Manager or Project Planner/Controller) following a documented SDLC and employing a rigorous project management methodology.  PMP certification preferred.  Strong practitioner’s knowledge of MS Project. Exposure to Financial Services Systems and Processes, including 5-8+ years experience providing IT Solutions directly to large Financial Services clientele Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; logical, conceptual and a quick learner, with a demonstrated ability to quickly assess a situation and generate new insights and usable ideas. Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.  Demonstrated ability to independently produce clear and meaningful executive-level reports. Excellent verbal, presentation and facilitation skills. Experience assessing projects and mentoring Project Managers to help drive performance.
