Rail Safety Specialist

Location: Cairo, Egypt Allowances: eligible. Position Profile: The Ministry of Transportation, Government of Egypt has identified rail safety as a high priority initiative for technical assistance and confirmed its willingness to improve rail safety in a systematic manner, using a combination of managerial, technical, and other initiatives that will result in improved rail safety throughout the system. Building on rail safety, the Ministry may also welcome assistance in transport safety reform beyond rail (ie port, metro, road, etc.).BearingPoint is seeking an experienced rail safety advisor to advise directly high-level counterparts within the Ministry of Transportation. Key outputs will include the identification of priority interventions to improve rail safety, a road-map for safety improvements, technical assistance to sector-wide reforms impacting rail safety and other initiatives as they are identified.Position-Specific Requirements: - BA or BS degree- Minimum 10 years overall work experience, at least 5 years in emerging markets industry.- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in transport industry- Minimum 10 years of work experience with Transport Safety Issues, particularly rail safety, gained in developed market contexts.
