Sales Engineer

 

Scope

The Sales Engineer supports the account manager in the technical aspects of pre- and post-sales and works closely with both R&D and sales, providing technical support as well as selling directly to and building relationships with the customer’s IT leadership.

 

Responsibilities

 Provide pre-sales technical support, planning and consultingProvide design validation, including planning of trials and rolloutsKeep synchronized with R&D, with respect to best practices, consulting, architecture, planningDeliver technical and sales-oriented presentations to customer’s technical staff (IT department) and senior managementBuild and maintain relationships with technical decision makers and influencers within the customer’s organization

 

Experience

Must be an experienced sales engineer who can acquire technical knowledge and skills quickly. Critical to be highly organized with demonstrated capability of managing complex projects on both a pre-sales and post-sales installation basis. The role requires a quick and creative thinker who can come up with solutions and suggestions on the fly during customer meetings. Plus:

 Prior experience working for point-of-sale service company,  large A/V system integratorsOr, experience working for a large technology service provider, doing corporate SW/HW integration or implementation of DB and storageExperience working with large retail and banking customers and with software salesCustomer-focused working style Ability to analyze customer processes and requirementsWillingness to travel extensivelySome experience with customer support preferredExperience with project design, deployment and managementMust be extremely experienced and proficient with network design, planning, architecture and security as well as windows based PC client-server and web applications
