Senior General Ledger Accountant

ICF International seeks a Senior General Ledger Accountant to assist in our Corporate Accounting Department. This position is located in the headquarters office in Fairfax, VA. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

In this position, you will:Assist in the process or completing month-end accounting entries. Ensure that selected accounts are in balance and completes financial entries for update to the general ledger. Identify errors, researches and corrects account discrepancies. Process monthly foreign field packages and analyze various balance sheet accounts. Accountable for bank statement reconciliations and will resolve all discrepancies with bank and payee. Reconcile intercompany accounts. Assist with various internal and external audits to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls. Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting. Assist with Revenue recognition and unbilled receivable reconciliation on large multi-faceted project.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of general ledger accounting experience. Experience with MS Office Applications (Word/Excel) is required. Experience with Cospoint and Impromtu is required. Strong oral and written communication skills is a must. Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), FAR, and CAS to ensure that business practices are in accordance with these policies. Must be organized, detail oriented and able to work well independently and as part of a team. Must be able to excel in a fast paced and deadline sensitive environment.
