We are proud of the quality of our staff and are looking to add talented, dynamic people to our (growing) ranks.Corporate Executive Board (CEB) is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join its Information Technology Group (ITG). This position is located in our Washington, DC office. The core responsibilities for this role are outlined below: The Senior Network Engineer has responsibility for the research, design, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization's Cisco Voice and Data network. He or She will also assist in the day to day management of this environment and provide team leadership to the Voice and Data Network team. Main Responsibilities Include: • Ensure the proper administration, management, and operation of all Network Resources.• Work closely with management, support staff and end-users to ensure rapid resolution of IT issues.• Manage the Cisco Data and Telecoms team. • Participate in establishing and implementing backup and recovery policies and practices.· Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of product standards for the IT infrastructure. Product standards may include configuration templates, approved hardware lists, OS revisions and design templates. ~Publish detailed standard updates in discrete release bundles on the quarterly basis• Participate in establishing and implementing appropriate disaster recovery plans and procedures for all mission critical systems.• Participate in establishing and implementing security policies and practices on Network Systems and resources.• Support others in analyzing and resolving difficult problems involving any part of the Infrastructure systems.• Proactive in monitoring systems and problem solving skills.• Assist and mentor team members in project deliverables.• Will be required at times to work outside usual hours of business in order to support servers, systems, and services without impeding access to these servers and services during usual business hours.• Coordinate vendor escalations and support for critical issues, acting as a bridge between the vendors' engineering resources and support staff.Qualifications: • BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.• 6-8+ years work experience during which the primary focus of responsibility has involved a broad range of hands-on technical implementation, management and administration activities• Cisco certified (CCIE, CCNP, CCIP, CCSP)• Expert knowledge of VOIP Infrastructure• Experience with the design, management and maintenance of LAN and WAN Technologies.• Extensive knowledge of current IT concepts, issues, practices, methodologies, and trends, particularly those relevant to Network design and administration.• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form. • Ability to understand and analyze complex issues and information relating to database management.• Ability to establish work priorities.• Expert-level knowledge of Routing and Switching technologies and products, including Ethernet switching, VLAN technologies, OSPF/BGP routing, Datacenter design principles. Experience with Cisco products and technologies is a must.• Hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of L4-L7 networking technologies including Local and Global Server Load Balancing technologies and products. Experience with F5 products and technologies is highly desirable. • Expert-level knowledge of Routing and Switching technologies and products, including Ethernet switching, VLAN technologies, OSPF/BGP routing, Datacenter design principles. Experience with Cisco products and technologies is a must.
