Senior Program Manager

ICE is currently hiring a full-time Senior Program Manager to run the Boston program and provide leadership and coordination for program staff located in other Massachusetts cities.                      

 



Responsibilities

 

 1)       ICE Boston Program Management and Quality Assurance “StreetWise M.B.A.”™ and NextYear Programs

-          Work  with instructors to coordinate logistics for all “StreetWise M.B.A.” events in Boston. Activities include classroom learning sessions, seminars, networking events, and commencement. Responsibilities include securing venues, coordinating invitations, scheduling, recruiting panelists, making arrangements with catering, supplying providers, etc.



-          In collaboration with the Director of Programs, develop all program materials: entrepreneur/instructor handbooks, class-related materials, and directories. Attend classes to monitor the delivery of the curriculum; capture/report proposed revisions/improvements.  Work with design expert to implement improvements/revisions.



-          Develop/maintain strong working relationship with the entrepreneurs by attending classes and through phone and email communication.



-          Work with the NextYear facilitator to coordinate logistics/implement programmatic elements for all NextYear events in Boston: securing a venue, communicating with the entrepreneurs, and acting as a liaison between the facilitator and the entrepreneurs. Solicit feedback from the entrepreneurs and implement programmatic changes to fit the changing needs of the entrepreneurs and ICE.



-          Manage ICE relations and regularly communicate with all ICE stakeholders: “Streetwise M.B.A.” instructors, NextYear facilitators, ICE entrepreneurs, and PSN members/partnering organizations.



2)      ICE Boston Program Recruitment Entrepreneurs

-          Manage all aspects of the campaign to recruit entrepreneurs for the “StreetWise M.B.A.”™ program. This includes: developing marketing materials; making presentations; generating leads of high-potential businesses; identifying, establishing, and nurturing partnerships with organizations to obtain entrepreneur referrals and lists; interviewing entrepreneurs, making recommendations to the ICE selection committee meeting; and completing the selection and enrollment process.



-          Represent ICE in Boston networks related to inner-city economic and small business development.

  

Private Sector Network

-          Continue to expand the Boston Private Sector Network by recruiting new business leaders willing to provide advice on a pro bono basis. Manage an ongoing recruitment campaign to identify and reach out to new members.

-          Communicate regularly with them and identify new ways to involve them in the program.







NextYear Program

-          Market the NextYear program to “Streetwise M.B.A.”™ graduates and conduct enrollment process for the program.



3)      Provide leadership and training for network of Massachusetts Program Managers

-          In consultation with the Director of Programs, host weekly phone calls with Program Managers/Coordinators to review up-coming classes and other events, logistical needs and communication with local instructors and partnering organizations.



-          Act as discussion leader at monthly program staff meetings.



-          Develop a tool and implement a process to capture, document, and report feedback from all program staff regarding possible improvements to the curriculum and instructor’s manual and general programmatic changes.



-          Ensure that all program staff are meeting deadlines and deliverables for “StreetWise M.B.A.”™ program and NextYear.



4)      Program Expansion Assistance

-          Support the Director of Programs, as needed, in efforts to expand and implement ICE programs in new cities.

 











Qualifications and Skills

All ICE staff must have demonstrated leadership skills and a passion for urban communities. Other qualifications include: Three to five years of work experience with entrepreneurs or business development. Strong track record in recruitment/sales, consultative selling, and/or partnership development and management. Ability to network, communicate, and build relationships with corporations and small businesses. Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Results- and deadline-driven. Excellent project management skills and attention to detail. Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing software. Experience with online communities desired but not required. Demonstrated commitment to diversity.  B.A. from accredited institution or equivalent experience required. Sense of humor and desire to be an integral member of a learning community.
