It is the only consulting firm with five straight appearances on Fortune Magazine's list of "100 Best Companies to Work for in America."   Deloitte's Solutions Network (SNET) is a global network that connects Deloitte's solution centers, extended delivery centers, clients, and vendor partners.  The primary focus of the SNET is to support client development projects, client pursuits, solution development, and practice development.  The SNET does this by providing project teams with a hosted infrastructure that includes a large mix of hardware vendors, operating systems, and technical application expertise.  The SNET also provides on-site technical architecture and application experts for Deloitte's clients.    The Solution Network consists of experts with knowledge of all major packaged applications and technologies - PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, Siebel, middleware, BI/DW, JAVA, .Net, networking, SAN, server virtualization, etc.  SNET staff are also exposed to new and emerging technology, and in many cases serve as an R&D function for Deloitte Consulting.   As a dynamic and leading edge company, Deloitte Consulting offers a phenomenal opportunity for staff to join a high growth environment to expand, enhance and strengthen their client service and technology skills.Scope The Senior Consultant will be responsible for providing expert-level technical leadership for application and technology products supported by the Solutions Network.  The position will be focused on supporting client projects as well as sales teams in the configuration, customization, and implementation of selected packages and applications for sales demonstration as well as client-based project implementations.  In addition to hands-on technical work, this position will also require providing assistance to project teams with architecture design, developing documentation and creating client deliverables.   The ideal candidate will have broad implementation and configuration experience with various middleware/EAI packages, preferably in a management consulting environment.   This position may require up to 75% travel. Personal Qualifications -         Five years prior work experience in information technology, including two year work experience with middleware. -         Experience with at least one of the following packages: WebSphere (Process Server, Broker, MQ Series etc) family,  Weblogic, WebMethods or Tibco -         Extensive experience installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Middleware/EAI packages in a mixed Wintel and Unix environment. -         Strong DBA skills with at least one of the following: Oracle 10g, DB2 8.0 or SQL Server 2000. -         Creative person who has developed innovative approaches to developing solutions -         Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance -         Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. -         Knowledge of SOA and other application servers/portal products or Business Intelligence (Hyperion, Cognos, Business Objects, Informatica, SAS etc) is a plus. -         Support the middleware application teams during the development life cycle, including migrating applications from development/test environments to production and Middleware configurations -         Active participation in middleware infrastructure architecture issues, such as capacity planning, scalability, failover, backup/recovery, and security of the middleware environment. -         Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, science or engineering or equivalent field. -         Prior consulting experience highly desired.   About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
