The Publications Division of the American Diabetes Association has an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for publications within an organization that is mission driven. The incumbent of this position is responsible for managing advertising production for ADA’s consumer magazine, Diabetes Forecast, and four professional journals. The position reports to the Vice President, Publications.


Specific Responsibilities Include:

* Communicate with production personnel, advertising and print agencies about specifications, schedules, etc.
* Coordinate information about advertising insertion orders and materials with ADA advertising sales staff
* Manage insertion order lifecycle, including rate verification, position tracking and database entry
* Manage production workflow including scheduling and trafficking of advertising graphic materials while keeping abreast of printer’s press requirements and quality control
* Produce regular reports about advertising for each publication
* Coordinate with editorial staff of publications about advertising specifications
* Layout professional journals taking into account competitive separation and printing signature makeup
* Update SRDS and other directory listings of advertising rates and specifications
* Maintain online advertiser page
* Serve as point of contact for Diabetes Forecast Shopper’s Guide advertisers


* 3 - 5 years experience with magazine production, preferably with a consumer magazine
* Solid organizational skills
* High attention to detail
* Strong computer skills and experience with advertising software like AdMate
* Strong customer focus
* Proficiency with databases, insertion orders, graphic design software and pre-press understanding of printing standards
* Ability to troubleshoot graphics files before they go to the printer
* Solid oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work within deadlines
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility
