Sr. QA Engineer Position in Sunnyvale

Our Client is looking for a Web Application QA Engineer with strong automation experience for a 3 to 6 month contract. Must have QTP automation experience.

Responsibilities:
" Design, develop and execute manual as well as automated test cases for web-based applications and Web-Services.
" Perform functional, regression, compatibility testing for web-based applications.
" Provide development of effective QA test processes, including managing metrics for test execution and defect tracking.
" Work with development and cross functional teams to resolve issues.

Experience Requirements:
" Experience with Automation test tools like QTP.
" Minimum 3 years experience as a Software QA Engineer working with Enterprise client-server applications and web-based applications
" Proven experience with SQL and strong experience in testing backend databases.
" Knowledge of HTTP, HTML, XML, Schemas, DTD.
" Understanding of Web-Services (SOAP and XML-RPC) along with Web-Service testing experience.
" Experience in writing programs using scripts in Java and/or any of the scripting languages like VBScript, Perl, PHP, and Python.
" Proficient in developing test plans, test cases, executing tests, generating defect reports, working with development engineers to resolve problems.
" Working knowledge of Unix, Windows 2000, XP and NT
" Must be familiar with software development process, software QA and testing methodologies.

Desired experience with:
" Knowledge of J2EE architecture, jBoss (or equivalent J2EE server or Tomcat), jsp and struts.
" QA experience with Palm, PPC and Smartphone devices.
" Experience using Load Runner and Win Runner.
" Familiar with IDE like Eclipse and be able to create/execute unit test-cases in Java environment.
" Performance and scalability testing of enterprise applications
