Sr Systems Administrator - Microsoft
Our client in Philadelphia has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Administrator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited too: • Responsible for the design, planning, deployment and administration of Windows-based IIS servers, database servers, application servers, SharePoint servers, file servers and Active Directory services in physical and virtual environment • Ability to consistently evaluate and implement procedures in areas of installation, backup, recovery and troubleshooting of VMware, SAN and Backup environments. • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of user accounts and systems configurations on a vast array of applications and systems. These systems include Network, VPN, and remote access services. • User Account Administration: Windows 2003 & Active Directory, Terminal Server: creation and maintenance of user accounts and groups, implementation of file-level and share-level security, user rights relating to shares and permissions. • Responsible for the implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, WINS, and GPOs. • Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting VMware ESX Infrastructure, including Cisco routers & switches, Brocade Fiber switches, and Storage Area Network. • Interface with business to identify practical solutions applicable to the business needs based on available technology. • Interface with numerous other groups within ITG during day as well as in all phases of new projects, from design through inception. • Develop and prepare documentation required to support recommendation/solution to the business units, and WWIT • Identify and develop new procedures or processes that will result in improvements. • Provide troubleshooting and support for administration problems or issues. All problems are logged by the HelpDesk and tracked via the CMTG Change Control System. • Position has no hire/fire authority over assigned staff or profit & loss responsibility. Reports to Corporate Technology Management Group Manager. Technical Qualifications required are: • In depth knowledge and hands-on proficiency of Active Directory infrastructure & administration skills in a large scale environment. • In depth knowledge and hands-on proficiency of VMware ESX Infrastructure 3.0.1, 3.0.2, 3.5 VMware Virtual Center 2.0.1, 2.0.2, and 2.5, including Cisco routers & switches, Brocade Fiber switches, and Storage Area Network. • In depth knowledge and hands-on proficiency of DNS, DHCP, DFS, WINS, and GPOs. • Must have technical, hands-on proficiency in the following areas: SUS/WUS, McAfee EPO, Microsoft ForeFront Security, Security administration of Active Directory, Security Administration of Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 operating systems; TCP/IP, Internet, Intranet, and Firewall technologies; and remote access Security techniques and products. • Familiarity with routing, switching, and bridging in LAN, WAN, VPN environments, access methods, and network topologies is essential, as is basic knowledge of cryptography as it relates to computer and network Security. • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. • Understanding of user perspective systems security Basic Qualifications: • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience • 3-5 years experience supporting Windows/Cisco Network Infrastructure in a large corporate environment. • Minimum of 4 years experience with Active Directory • 2-4 years experience supporting VMware ESX VI and VC • MCSE certification preferred. • VCP certification preferred.They are willing to consider candidates that are interested in contract to hire or direct placement.
