Staff Accountant

POSITION Summary: Performs entry level accounting activities with the primary focus on payroll processing, filing, and reconciliation.  Secondary activities include accounts payable processing and filing.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Assist with the processing of a semi-monthly payroll to include data entry of payroll changes and filing of source documentation

· Assist with timekeeping processing to include follow-up on missing timesheets and confirm correct account classifications.

· Perform audit checks each payroll and monthly reconciliations.

· Assist with the processing of accounts payable activity to include data entry and filing of source documentation.

· Assist in processing expense reports.

· Maintain accounting vendor files.

· Perform other accounting and administrative related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· A Bachelors degree in Accounting/Business Administration preferred.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

· Demonstrated attention to detail.Working knowledge of ADP, Quick Books, and Deltek GCS Premier Preferred.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work as a member of a team. Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task. Ability to manage confidential information. Ability to work independently as necessary.
