Systems Engineer/Data Architect Systems Engineer/Data Architect Shall provide support for the N-DEx development and integration. Focuses on the elements required to structure the information and data aspects of solutions and to design, build, test, install, operate and maintain the system of solution information. The key interests of this discipline include databases (relational, hierarchical and object-oriented), file systems and storage management and maintenance. Discover and define data-process relationships and data property requirements in such areas as source, location, integrity, availability, performance and age. Must have a thorough understanding of data architecture design methodologies Mastery and knowledge of design tools. Knowledge of Oracle, SQLServer and DB2 on multiple platforms (I will have to verify these) and experience on successful projects designing data models. Experience applying performance methodologies used in database problem solving. Consulting experience is desirable. Must demonstrate strong analytical abilities as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.The Candidate will provide technical, strategic guidance to middle and senior level database administrators, application designers and developers in the creation and implementation of new databases, as well as the maintenance of major existing databases supporting evolving applications. Additionally, the candidate will provide strategic guidance to data stewards on the development and implementation of data models to support organizational business processes.Specific duties will include leading and consulting to all levels of the organization on the design, development and implementation of logical database structures and classification schema; and developing policies and procedures to build, maintain and leverage the data model. Provide technical, strategic guidance on the development of metadata tags, Document Type Definitions (DTD), and schemas using appropriate technologies for representation such as HTML and XML. Additionally, candidates ensure that metadata and data standards and definitions support both local business processes and system implementations thereof, and corporate requirements for sharing data.Minimum Requirements:Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or an equivalent technical degree program with specific, relevant work experience. Candidates must also possess ten years of progressively responsible experience in the oversight and strategic planning of database structural design and development. The candidate should also have extensive experience in database structural design and/or IT architecture disciplines.
