Technical Architect - IBM Alliance

; Level 5   LOCATION:  Flexible                          OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION   The main objective of this position will be assisting our firm to leverage our alliance with IBM to better serve our clients. This will include direct support of Deloitte client teams in pursuits and delivery as well as development and support of IBM solutions, initiative and POV's for our Service Lines and Industry teams.  This position will require management skill sets to leverage multiple professional technical resources for successful delivery of the total client solution. Presentation and communication skills are a critical component in order to educate and elaborate on the application of technology proposed.     POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION   ·         Reports to the IBM Senior Alliance Executive.   ·         Works closely with the IBM Senior Alliance Executive and the IBM Global Alliance Partner.  Also works with the IBM Alliance Team, Compliance & Contracts Manager, and the TRC and resale teams when needed.     MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES   ·         Leveraging your deep knowledge of IBM hardware and software technology you will collaborate with Deloitte Consulting colleagues (EA and TI resources, etc.) to understand existing engagements and services and assist in leveraging the value of the IBM Alliance.   ·         Work with the Alliance Director and BDMs to develop strategic accounts and alliance programs   ·         Collaborate with IBM Technology SMEs to understand product offerings, both hardware and software and identify service offerings that can add value to our client engagements.   ·         Work with select Deloitte Consulting Service Areas and Industry leaders to help identify and develop IBM based solutions and initiatives that will drive services revenue for the firm.   ·         Determines client requirements for technology acquisitions and translation of requirements into valid configurations and landscapes.  Act as facilitator of information between IBM and the Deloitte client teams, responsible for helping to maintain a productive working relationship.   ·         Manage the application sizing process for major software packages on IBM hardware platforms and software.  Works with client teams to contribute to and decide upon final configurations.     POSITION CHARACTERISTICS   Personal Characteristics ·         Excellent team player ·         Ability to manage work and meet specific deadlines ·         Adaptable and flexible ·         Excellent oral and written communication skills ·         Energetic and enthusiastic   Decision Making ·         Generally makes decisions of a routine nature following predetermined policies, procedures and guidelines.   Internal Contacts ·         Interactions with Partners, alliance teams, and resale teams as required.   External Contacts ·         Contact with IBM staff and DC clients as required.   Education and Experience Requirements ·         A proven functional/technical professional with technical design and sizing experience across large scale projects and at least 5 years consulting experience. ·         Strong background in IBM hardware and software products and capabilities is preferred. ·         Must have the ability and experience pricing out multi-million dollar hardware and software solutions. ·         Adept at working on varying technical solutions and managing highly talented technical resources. ·         Experience and understanding competitive solutions and be knowledgeable in differentiating Partner value proposition as a superior solution set for the prospects and customers. ·         A proven resource in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and at times prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines. ·         Able to collaborate with clients, identify engagement follow-on opportunities, and have a strong desire to excel. ·         Strong Project Management, Configuration and Design skills. ·         Ability to travel 30-40% ·         Four year college/university degree in related business discipline and 5 years of relevant technical experience.   ·         Candidates should be able to exercise sound judgement in interpreting firm policies and objectives.   ·         Proficiency with Firm standard word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications required.  Member of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Copyright © 2006 Deloitte Development LLC.
