Technical Writer Senior - Training
Overview:
Training projects have moderate levels of complexity, risk, and impact to the Learning Services and client business. Efforts require internal and external support of customer implementations and may require cross departmental efforts.
This position does not have direct reports. Reports to the Learning Services Sr. Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Designs, develops, delivers and evaluates training programs for external customers both domestic and global. Takes feedback from sessions and incorporates the data into training and process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction. Writes and edits instructional or informational materials.
• Creates storyboards, scripts, course content (including simulations and blended solutions) and student directions for eLearning solutions into templates.
• Works cross functionally with Professional Services, Technical Writers, and Development to create accurate manuals.
• Participates in product meetings to ensure all training materials reflects current product features and future product vision.
• Researches the training needs of all audiences in order to develop appropriate training specifications.
• Develop and adhere to documentation standards and styles.
• Analyze the impact of software updates and makes resulting changes to documentation.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Concur products and services.
• Provide estimates, key deliverables, and milestones within a given release.
• Might train or advise other technical writers on all aspects of technical writing.
• Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience & Training required:
• Bachelor's degree in English, communications-related field, information technology, computer science, or equivalent.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Dreamweaver, Homesite, Frontpage or other HTML editor.
• HTML knowledge, MS Word required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
