Technology-Based Economic Development Specialist

Position will lead the growth of RTI's consulting and research services in strategies for technology-based economic development, industry cluster studies, and best practices in technology transfer and commercialization. Position will leverage internal RTI and external resources to provide high value-added consulting to clients seeking to develop or enhance innovative programs to accelerate the movement of technology from research into industry.

This position may be full or part-time dependent upon candidate preference and volume of new projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Business development and project management
• Managing economic development professionals and working with a team of technology transfer specialists.


Minimum Requirements

• 10-15 years experience showing increasing responsibility for program development and project management.
• Requires existing knowledge of best practices in technology-based economic development and industry cluster studies, and ability to formulate research approaches to evaluating effectiveness of existing and new programs.
• A proven track record in developing program services and effectively growing business for such services.

Desired Skills:

• A combination of public and private sector experience is preferred, along with an established reputation and network within the TBED community.
