#0810 – Process Automation Division - Process Automation Engineer

 

ArcelorMittal Cleveland has an immediate openings for Process Automation Engineers in Cleveland, Ohio.  The following primary position responsibilities and key position requirements are intended to provide an overview of the position, but are not all-inclusive.

 

Job Description:

Design, architect, develop, modify, and/or troubleshoot all Level 2 and selected Level 1 control systems and models in a manufacturing environment and function successfully in a self-directed management environment.

Design, architect, develop, modify, and/or troubleshoot database systems, data storage systems, disaster recovery systems, and other process automation infrastructure.  

Lead and/or participate in design teams and project teams on small to large process automation and infrastructure projects, including software and systems development.

Act as mentor and assist training of new and junior process automation engineers.

 

Lead and/or participate in cross-training activities with process automation engineers in operating departments other than his/her routine assignment.

Lead and/or participate lead in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and World Class Equipment Reliability (WCER) teams and activities.

Participate in development of the Process Automation budget process.

Participate in the Process Automation procurement process.

May function as a plant-wide resource of technical knowledge.

Understands, communicates, and enforces company and department policies.

Domestic and international travel as required.

On-Call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

 

Experience Requirements:

Minimum/Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer discipline or at least 3 years of documented equivalent work in an engineering or computer related occupation.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Preferred Requirements:

3+ years of documented computer programming, database management, data storage management, and/or operating systems management experience.

3+ years of documented experience in computer programming, database management, data storage management, and/or operating systems management experience.

3+ years of documented experience managing process control computer systems in a manufacturing environment.

3+ years of documented process modeling experience.

Certified competency in Microsoft, Red Hat, and/or Cisco products and systems.

Experience with direct control systems such as PLC, DCS, and hybrid systems.

Experience with steelmaking and/or flat rolled carbon steel finishing manufacturing processes.

 

 Education Requirements:

  Minimum/Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer discipline or at least 3 years of documented equivalent work in an engineering or computer related occupation.

Computer training in at least one of the following skills – computer systems, software development and maintenance, networking, data warehousing, data storage, and disaster recovery, and/or

Programming training in MSSQL, FORTRAN, .NET, and/or Java and/or

Training in at least one computer operating systems including Windows, Linux, and OpenVMS.

 

Preferred Requirements: 

Training in process modeling.

Exposure to supply chain management and manufacturing processes

Knowledge of direct control systems such as PLC, DCS, and hybrid systems.

Knowledge of steelmaking and/or flat rolled carbon steel finishing manufacturing processes.

Leadership training

Project management training
