Accounting Clerk

Accurate and timely processing of perpetual inventory transactions and related accounting activities. Accurate and timely processing of A/P and supplier debits. Perform accounting related clerical tasks. These tasks are required for the efficient and effective operation of the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) system and are required to ensure safeguarding of corporate assets.Publish monthly and weekly production reports.Edit general ledger batches (receivers, material receipts, etc.)Process paperwork for internal material transfers. Account for returned or substituted goods. Perform daily data reliability checks.Process vendor debits and packing slip transactions. Write journal entries. Process invoices for accounts payable.File as required.Perform other daily, monthly and year end duties as required.This position reports to the Cost Accounting Supervisor and requires effective assistance to Inventory Cost Supervisor with accounting duties (i.e. general ledger, cost maintenance).
Experience and Skills:
Technical College degree with a major in Accounting (2 year), or High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 years accounting related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Lotus, word processing skills, keyboard and 10-key skills required.
