Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
Manages and controls responsibilities for general accounting functions for medium size manufacturing company, posting and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records for the company.

 Principle Accountabilities:
* Manages accounting processes, including A/P, A/R, general accounting etc.  
* Supervises monthly and quarterly accounting reporting
* Advises upper management concerning monthly input of statistics, records and reconciliations
* Manages month end close and ensures timely overall close process

Responsibilities May Include:
* Develops, analyzes and interprets accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
* Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
* Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
* Supervises the process for monthly and quarterly accounting reporting.
* Responsible for cash flow forecast and account reconciliations of income statements and/or balance sheets.
* Manages the maintenance of accurate records of earnings, profits, cash balance and other financial results to ensure schedule objectives are met.

Knowledge & Skills:
* Knowledge of accounting that includes spreadsheets and relational database programs for data processing techniques.
* Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical skills to oversee total operations of the organization.
* Knowledge of various computer programs required (ex: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
* Determines standardized procedures and work schedules to improve efficiency of subordinates
