This Acquisition Specialist role involves all aspects of purchasing for this large, 1300 person facility which manufactures a variety of defense products. More information is available at our web site, www.atk.com Acquisition Specialist Responsibilities JOB ID 2128, 2129 or 2130 -Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and supplies necessary for plant operation -Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives -Compile information from periodicals, catalogs and other sources to remain informed of price trends and manufacturing processes -Confer with vendors and analyze vendors operations to determine factors that affect prices, and then determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules -Support proposal activity, negotiate prices, select or recommend supplies -Analyze trends, follow-up on order placed, verify deliver, approve payment and main necessary records to comply with Federal Acquisition Regulation requirementsRequirements -Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field -Ability to obtain Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite -1 to 3 years procurement experience using MRP or ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment such as automotive, machinery, heavy equipment or defense products -Experience using Microsoft products, preferably Excel, Word, Project, and Access Desired Skills -Negotiation skills -Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers and co-workers -Good organizational skills With $4.1 billion in annual sales, approximately 16,500 employees, and operations in 21 states, ATK is a company on the move!
