Title: Desktop AdministratorFLSA:ExemptReports to:Manager, ITLevel:Z12Job Family:Tech - AnalystBusiness Unit:900016 Client Technical ServicesJob Summary The Desktop Administrator is responsible for maintaining the desktop security, administration of patch and antivirus systems, and project management in relation to the Zimmer desktop environment. The Desktop Administrator will also work with a team of Desktop Technicians in support of the corporations desktop environment.General Functions § Maintain LANDesk Management Suite (Security Suite, Patch Manager, Software Package Development/Distribution, etc.)§ Planning, implementation, and maintaining of corporate anti-virus, patch management, and other desktop security solutions. § Lead or work on various departmental projects related to software and hardware rollouts.§ Lead or work as part of cross functional teams for IT related projects. § Work with IT Security Analyst and CCB to develop standards, policies, and plan rollouts. § Act as the technical lead for CTS and work with other Zimmer sites to provide assistance as needed§ Provide 24/7 technical support during weekends, holidays, and off hours on a standby basis.§ Identify and evaluate system requirements from acquisition to upgrade and/or replacement.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADAExpected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) § Possess strong customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.§ Ability to lead a team, influence others, and through strong organizational skills, handle increasing levels of responsibility. § Strong technical ability and troubleshooting skills for PC related hardware/software. § Solid understanding of software deployment tools such as LANDesk, SMS, or Altiris and their software deployment methods. Experience with Scripting (VB, Windows, etc.) required. § Independently grasps and resolves complex issues. Uses logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. § Understanding of Active Directory and the use of Group Policies. Education/Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Computer Science, or equivalent experience, is required. Requires 3-5 years experience in computer maintenance and support.Skill Requirements Must have experience working with desktop operating systems including Windows Vista, XP, and 2000. Must have experience with PC hardware and peripheral equipment to address problems and install. Application programming or scripting preferred.Licenses/Certifications A+ Certification, Network+, Security+, MCP, MCDT, MCSA, MCSE, or LANDesk Certified Administrator certifications. (One or more preferred)Education: BachelorsJob Level: 3 - 5 yearsPercent Travel: 1-10%
