Analysis and Simulation Engineer

SIMULATION ENGINEER Great opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in our Keyser WV Manufacturing Center of Excellence as a Simulation Engineer. You will contribute to the introduction and advancement of Lean Manufacturing through simulation (and emulation) of our processes in the manufacturing and administrative areas. DESCRIPTION - Construct discrete event models representing manufacturing and/or administrative processes - Collect, analyze and present data output from models to diverse stakeholder groups - Present Lean concept and practices in both classroom environments and small interactive groups - Provide guidance in the development of Lean processes for new products based on Discrete Event Simulation - Gather information and data relevant to construction of valid process models - Work with minimal supervision. Provide creative technical and practical solutions to challenging problems REQUIREMENTS - BS in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or directly related discipline - 3 or more years experience in discrete event modeling of manufacturing and production processes - Demonstrable understanding of Lean concepts and practices - Willing to work with Hazardous Materials and energetics - Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite; ATF Clearance may also be required - Demonstrated experience and conversant in analyzing output data from discrete event process models, to make or recommend process decisions - Proficient in MS Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc; CAD a plusDESIRED - Clear written and oral communication skills - Ability to work with diverse and cross functional teams Company: Alliant Techsystems, Inc.
