Analyst - Corporate Development

Wabtec Corporation is a global provider of value-added, technology-based products and services for the rail industry.  Through it subsidiaries, the company manufactures a range of products for locomotives, freight cars and passenger transit vehicles.  The company also builds new switcher and commuter locomotives and provides aftermarket services.  We are looking for an Analyst - Corporate Development for our manufacturing facility in Wilmerding.

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, the Analyst of Corporate Development will support the senior members of the corporate development group in all facets in the M&A process; target identification, strategic assessment, valuation, due diligence and negotiation process to bring these projects to a successful deal closing.  Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for various project management and ad-hoc financial reporting assignments.

Primary responsibilities:

o  Due Diligence Support

o  Target identification and tracking

o  Market Research

o  Financial Modeling

o  Ad hoc financial reports

In addition the selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Research activities include identifying strategic acquisition targets, creating industry overviews, identifying industry trends, and engaging business development research. Information is obtained through various internal and external databases, Internet searches, and available publications. Analyzing obtained information for effective use in transaction process is an essential component in an Analyst’s job.

Development and manipulation of financial models and ad-hoc financial reports includes conducting Discounted Cash Flow, Transaction Multiple Analysis, Comparable Company Analysis in addition to occasional budget compilations.  This activity includes entering historical financial information, forecasting future periods and developing sound assumptions after checking the model for validity and correctness.

Organization and coordination of diligence materials and findings, expert reports and transaction related communication.  This activity includes interaction with all functional areas and external experts performing diligence to facilitate an organized and timely review of materials and findings.   

Qualifications:Understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling conceptsAbility to work independently with a high attention to detail  Must have strong project management experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office; MS Excel, PowerPoint and WordBachelor’s Degree requiredMBA or in process to completion of MBA preferred
