Analytical Chemist

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for coordinating, performing and investigating analytical testing within a manufacturing environment to ensure that in -process and finished goods meet all quality and procedural standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct test and analyses on products to determine the level of cleanliness with regard to trace metals and residual contamination from the manufacturing process. Interact with manufacturing and R&D to optimize product and process design Conduct meetings, discussions and evaluation presentation within the group, with vendors, when required. Develop working knowledge of various membrane and separation technology. Maintain product evaluation laboratory to full functional state including maintenance and care of the equipment and recommend advanced and/or new techniques. Provide training in analytical methods and establish fully documented test procedures. Establish archives for tested products and maintain filing system to track the history for events for each product requiring analysis Promote excellent leadershiop skills within the laboratory environment and facilitate inter-and intra-department improvement in process methods and technology.

 

Qualifications (include education, knowledge, skills, ability and physical requirements): Experience and working knowledge of analytical procedures which may include a Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption, Ion Chromatography nd High Pressure Liquid Chromatography. Experience with Techniques to reduce interferences and different matrices. Must possess strong fundamental knowledge and skills of analytical chemistry.
