Job Category: Customer Support/Client Care Experience: 2+ to 5 Years       Job Description   Job Description: Tyco Flow Control (TFC) is the largest manufacturer of valves, actuators and associated flow control products in the world, serving the oil and gas, chemical, power generation, petrochemical, waterworks, and pulp and paper industries, as well as the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and specialty markets.  TFC generates approximately $3BB dollars in revenue and employs 15,000 associates in over 80 locations around the globe.  TFC Americas has an exciting opportunity for an Application Specialist in our Anchorage, AK location, Summary of Position: The Application Specialist position is an analytical and technical role that functions with our inside sales team and is responsible for providing analytical and technical support to Customers, Outside Sales and Inside Sales Representatives. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Analyzes customers’ process data and functional requirements to specify valve and/or automation packages.2. Applies knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards to customer specifications and answers technical questions based on those standards and ensures that products specified are in compliance.3. Develops pricing for configured products manufactured from Tyco and non- Tyco components.4. Answers technical questions about products, prices, durability.5. Negotiates terms and conditions with customers based on guidelines established by management. 6. Meets with customers to demonstrate and explain features of products and train customers in the use of the product.  7. Estimates delivery dates and arranges delivery schedules. 8. Investigates and resolves customer complaints. 9. Obtains credit information on prospective customers. 10. Reviews purchase orders for accuracy.11. Provides support to outside sales representatives.12. Prepares technical & commercial quotations.13. Acts as liaison between customer and manufacturing entity for unique products and applications. Education and Experience: Requires an Engineering or Technical bachelors degree (or equivalent relevant experience) plus at least 2 years experience in product analysis and technical quoting and pricing. Knowledge of valves, actuators, and controls is required for this role. Additional Skills Required:  Requires knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Excellent customer focus skills including interpersonal and communication skills are vital for this role. Listening and conflict management skills are also important. Good organizational skills and problem solving abilities are necessary. The successful candidate will have strong computer skills, ability to work with detail and solid math skills.
