Applications Engineer Position in the Toolholding Components Department

This NEW position, an addition to our Tooling Component sales team, is located at our USA Headquarters, Morrisville,  NC.

 

The Applications Engineer will assist the product manager and product sales team, distribution partners, and end users with sales, distribution, development and support of SCHUNK Toolholding components by:

 

Developing and preparing customer quotes including:

· Reviewing customer specifications and requests for quotes

· Interpreting drawings and other customer documents

 

Constant follow up on quotes and sales orders with customers and potential customers.

 

Manage customer quotes and sales orders in AS400 system, tracking the order process and follow up through delivery of the product.  

 

Providing technical service and training presentations to customers and representatives relating to SCHUNK Toolholding components:

· use

· operation, and

· maintenance

 

Customer support is provided by phone and on the customer site.

 

You must work effectively in a small team environment with the Product Manager, Technical Specialist, other Applications Engineers, CSR and inside and outside sales staff.

 

The Applications engineer must also perform duties of the Technical Specialist and CSR when necessary to meet business and customer needs.



 

This position is required to:

 

Communicate constantly with SCHUNK German operations to clarify technical data resulting in timely information flow and customer quotes.

 

Be able to work effectively in a small team environment with the Product Manager, inside and outside sales, Technical Specialist, other Applications Engineer and CSR.

 

Work with our other product teams, Workholding and Automation Components, the production shop and the sales and marketing staff.

 

Customer service is a priority in this position.  The qualified applicant will have a dedication to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the high quality and timely delivery of our products to our customers.

 

Additional Requirements for this position:

 

Engineering or technical degree or at least four years related experience in components manufacturing.

 

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications, product manuals and maintenance instructions.

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with our customers, distribution partners and end users on sales and technical issues making both one-on-one and group presentations.

 

Ability to work with limited supervision using initiative to proactively manage product sales, solve problems and provide excellent customer service.

 

Ability to recognize and analyze problems, develop, implement and carryout solutions.
