Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection and fire suppression equipment, has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer II.  This opportunity will be apart of the Mechanical Engineering –  Product Development Team.  This position is located in Blue Springs, Missouri.


As a Mechanical Engineer II, the qualified individual will develop product designs while leading and participating amongst a team.  This position requires independent interpretation of requirements and utilizes design skills to perform tasks independently; will consult with more experienced members for challenging situations.  As a member of the group with valuable experience, it is expected that they will occasionally be called on by other members and departments for assistance in their field of expertise.  This position will be expected to perform tasks with minimal supervision in addition to providing assistance to lower-level engineers.

 

Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline 

·  Five years related post degree experience

 

Preferred but not required: 

·  BSME  Master’s degree in a related technical field

·  Knowledge of CAD

·  Experience with ASME Section VIII and applicable military standards

·  Background in fluid flow, metallurgy, or stress analysis using finite element methods and a background with processes.
