Area Manager - Industrial Gas Group

Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc., a leading supplier of specialty gases & equipment is seeking an Area Manager for our Industrial gas Group at our Corpus Christi, TX location.

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, Industrial Gas Group, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Area package gas sales, hardgoods sales, cylinder production, cylinder distribution and back office operations.

Key responsibilities include:
• Maintaining high level of personal, team safety performance and regulatory compliance
• Driving profitable growth of the Area business
• Optimizing profitability of the Area business
• Developing area sales strategies in support of Regional and IGG strategy
• Supporting Sales Representatives in new business activities, contract negotiations & general Customer relations
• Coordinating & managing communication and support between Area & Region management
• Reporting area activity timely to management
• Shared accountability for collections results 

This position requires a B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred) or Business Administration (MBA preferred) and 5 or more years experience in industrial gas business as well as 3 or more years experience in package gas operations or package gas sales. Previous experience with personnel management of geographically dispersed field operations and/or significant multi-function operation is also desired. The successful candidate should have a conceptual understanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applications and equipment. Individual will also need significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA); working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices; as well as computer skills to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook.
