Area Sales Manager

Northeast USA Location 

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:Supervises and coordinates all area sales activities.Responsible for a yearly strategic sales/marketing plan - supported by individual goals and objectives.Develops area annual sales forecast by product mix, and remains responsible for parity in achieving quota with a balanced product mix.Develops and is responsible for T&E expenses.Responsible for the overall administration of area distribution and specialty distributors. Responsible for ongoing area market analysis as it relates to competition, trends, and pricing.Assure adherence to Company’s sales, marketing, and service policies as they relate to the sales of goods and services by and through distribution.Assure that all facets of training as provided by Company are utilized by distributors and end customers and is ongoing.Assure ongoing distributor and customer visits to Company factories.  Explore partnering opportunities with end customers, exploitation of market trends.Assure prompt, supportive, and concise correspondence and communication with all factory and field personnel.

 

Sales area coverage:  New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvannia

 

 

COMPLEXITY OF TASKS:

·  Area account penetration and coverage must be balanced, assuring that personal travel is within the T&E budget and executed as backed by planning, goals, and objectives.

·  Assure that the distributors are continually trained in all aspects of Company’s business, being personally responsible for that training or providing specialized company support.

·  Assure that end customer coverage be balanced between distributors.

·  Assure that distributors’ Company inventories are balanced and adequate to service customer demand.

·  Assure that the distributor/rep organization has adequate actuator mounting facilities and Company trained personnel.

·  Through extensive travel, assure ongoing personal relationships with distributor and common customers.

·  Support and contribute to the Company Quality Process.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree required as well as 3-5+ years outside sales experience preferably in the metal-cutting industry.

 

Ability to work successfully as both team leader and team member

 

PC proficiency is required as well as effective communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
