Someone who relishes existing outside their comfort zone is the type of person that will be successful in this position.  The ability to respond to continual change and challenges within this very fast paced environment is essential.  The Art Worker will report directly to the Head of Creative. The Art Worker role within the team is to offer a high level of input to projects, based on experience and knowledge gained through the graphics industry.  The role does not require any overall management responsibilities towards the team, but will involve responsibilities over and above the jobs day-to-day requirements.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

§ Responsible for accuracy of files produced from creative files and/or templates prior to repro, generating separations and taking through to print.

§ Develop skill base and technical knowledge of system software used on a day-to-day basis.  Produce accurate print-ready artwork files to the specification and timescales defined.Support the Designers in delivering work for a broad range of items including brochures, trade incentives, in-store POS and PR through strong working relationships with all functions.Contribute to solving technical issues that may occur during a job.Maintain consistent working style within brand guidelines.

§ Complete work in the timelines agreed and adhere to the schedules developed for Production.Take responsibility for mechanicals and signing off files for quality and accuracy of artwork produced.

 

 

Key Qualifications:

 

§  Written and verbal communication skills

§  Strong organizational and time management skills

§  Comprehensive skills in Quark; Illustrator; InDesign ; Microsoft Office

§  2 years experience in an in-house creative dept, agency or design studio preferably working on technology product-centric brands.

§  Knowledge of Asset management and pdf workflows

§  Print ready file checking artwork separations, Preflight

§  Project management skills – Take a brief and drive this through

§  Print and Pre-press knowledge

§  Technical knowledge of Photoshop

§  IT Systems knowledge

§  Experience of working on multi-lingual projects

§  Proven track record of commercial artwork and print production experience
