Associate Director, Compounding/Technical Services

Teva Parenteral Medicines has an excellent opportunity for Associate Director, Compounding/Technical Services. Responsible for managing and directing staff to ensure proper and continuous function of compounding operations in support of 24 hour, 7 day per week production schedule. Responsibilities: * Ensures that all operations of the Compounding areas are being performed in accordance with cGMP guidelines as well as applicable Teva SOPs. Supports the production schedule in terms of staffing, work schedules, planning activities, and equipment maintenance. * Directs personnel to perform weighing of chemicals and materials, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment, and compounding of pharmaceutical products. Work closely with QC Chemistry and Scheduling to provide a smooth and efficient work flow. * Provide support to R&D in the development of new product formulations including compounding section of batch records. * Directs personnel to complete and review all compounding and sterilization batch record documentation. * Performs investigation and completion of process variance reports. * Provides support to R&D teams for new product development in the areas of lyophilization and sterilization. * Writes new SOPs and amends current SOPs to accurately cover all significant activities within the department. * Coordinates technical assistance for Validation and Engineering protocols. Coordinates activities for process enhancement projects and supports new product development projects. * Prepare and monitor the annual department budget. Ensures that weekly and monthly inventories are performed. * Other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require. Primary Outcomes: * Trained staff will be available and scheduled to ensure all weighing and compounding operations will function at optimum levels. * Ensure support to R&D for new product development in the areas of product formulation/compounding. Qualifications: * Education Required: Degree in a Life Science or an Engineering field, e.g., Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a strong background in Chemistry. * Experience Required: Minimum of five years supervisory experience. * Experience Preferred: Minimum of ten years pharmaceutical experience with direct experience in the area of product formulations. * Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications needed: Sterile/aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing including product compounding/formulation.
