Job Summary –Drives the delivery of market communications services on a global basis which meet the needs of internal and external customers, specifically for the professional audience.  Directs the development and execution of comprehensive market communication plans, programs and budgets to meet company sales and profit objectives and optimize global market opportunities. General Functions –  Oversees market communications departmental processes and procedures and modify as needed to ensure the delivery of exceptional materials and service levels across the company. Assists in the strategic oversight of the organization’s advertising and promotion activities, print and electronic. Create internal communications strategy to support service orientation and cross-functional collaboration. Manages, organizes and coordinates assigned professional programs to ensure accomplishment of financial/budgetary goals.  Directs and where necessary, leads high-profile projects. Demonstrates both the capability to provide creative direction as well as strong business acumen to provide strategic direction. Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity. Personnel management of market communications managers, graphic and production staff. Directs staff in the execution of creative strategies for the organization. Mentors and evaluates; gives constructive feedback to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and continuity across business segments to meet company goals and objectives.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) – Appropriately decisive—smart, analytical, thoughtful. Evaluates market reaction to campaigns, advertising programs, and promotional product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Strategic thought and leadership—the ability to think and lead at the big picture level as well as the ability to translate strategic objectives into specific initiatives and manage successful execution. Market and customer focus—the ability to understand and address the needs of individual markets/customers, based on a strong drive to achieve results; consistent demonstration of a strong service and support orientation that is professional and proactive. High level of creativity—innovative, strategic thinker with a clear understanding of branding, marketing, and business strategies. Collaborative style—ability to work effectively across the organization; ability to foster and reward teamwork. Demonstrated ability to manage a global function with P/L responsibility and to maximize budget expenditures. Exceptionally strong communications skills—oral and written; the ability to persuade, influence, and clearly convey key messages. Strong understanding of global marketing and/or business practices and of global orthoapaedic industry environment and competitive forces. Education Requirements – B.S. degree, preferably in communications, public relations, marketing or closely related field, MBA or work on an MBA is preferred.  At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role managing a creative team including managers, graphics, and production. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of print/media design, marketing, and production from the corporate or agency side.Skill Requirements – Advanced knowledge of graphic design, print, media production and marketing principles. Proficient in Mac/PC graphic applications (DTP, photoshop, illustrator) and MS office suite. Portfolio required.Licenses/Certifications – Travel Requirements – 10% - 20%Education: BachelorsJob Level: 3 - 5 yearsPercent Travel: 51-75%
