Cooper Crouse-Hinds is seeking an Associate Product Line Manager for their Salem NJ location. SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position participates in the development and the administration of Product Marketing and Product Development function by providing marketing information on current products, proposed new products, analysis of competitive products, market studies on potential new markets as well as development of sales aids and promotional material. Provides technical and product assistance to customer service and field sales. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Provides marketing information to engineering as necessary in support of the divisional product development. 2. Participates in the preparation of catalogs, brochures, price lists, training aids, marketing briefs, instruction sheets and promotional material for product lines. 3. Conducts product analysis and develop appropriate business plans. 4. Participate in market studies to aid in the collection and evaluation of market data on competition relative to new product development. 5. Collect and analyze sales, cost and price information needed for pricing and analysis to develop annual product forecasts. 6. Appraise current product families in terms of features, performance, and price to determine competitive standing, conduct inventory analysis and forecasting and suggest corrective action where appropriate. 7. Identify SKU reduction opportunities. 8. Responsible for lead management, loading and edit data. 9. Provides product training for customer service and field sales.NATURE AND SCOPE: This position is primarily concerned with assisting the Product/Market Development and application activities in achieving established objectives for the assigned product families. This is accomplished through the accumulation and evaluation of internal and market information, relative to new products, current product improvement and maintenance, and pricing. The incumbent conducts studies to evaluate the competitive standing of the Crouse-Hinds Product families, accumulates and analyzes information needed for annual forecasts, aid in collection of market information needed for new product evaluation and product improvement process. The incumbent evaluates current product families for possible changes or deletions. Works closely with other departments to assure completion of approved changes and deletions and communicates progress to proper personnel. The incumbent will assist in the programs for testing competitive and own products. In achieving these objectives, the incumbent utilizes a broad marketing and technical knowledge relative to assigned product families. Desirable is ability for numerical analysis and knowledge of product application, product-market characteristics, internal work routines, factors affecting costs and identification of problem areas. The problem solving of this position requires independent and analytical thinking, utilization of broad technical know-how, extensive product knowledge and the exercise of sound commercial and engineering practices to determine and make product adjustments to maintain competitive standing of departmental product families. Additionally, it requires initiative and logic in determining the types of marketing information and in obtaining and evaluating this information. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Four year degree.
