Automation and Controls Engineer
Automation and Controls Engineer
A leading manufacturing company, located in the North Carolina area, is looking to hire an Automation and Controls Engineer PRIMARY FUNCTION: Applies electrical / electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, testing procedures, engineering mathematics, physics, and related knowledge to design, layout, build, test and troubleshoot production equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Design, integration and installation of manufacturing lines and subsystems used to manufacture copper and fiber optic cables.
§ Engineer both electrical and electronic systems required for installation and operation.
§ Technical writing for equipment specifications, operating and installationprocedures.
Travel required 30-40 percent travel 5 percent out of the country .
§ Oversee special projects and assignments.
§ Interface with Production/Engineering personnel at all levels related to projects.
§ Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system operating characteristics and functionality.
§ Inspects all equipment and designated materials to ascertain conformance to established specifications.
§ Works under minimum technical and engineering supervision. Operationally reports directly to Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer
§ Interfaces with other departments/personnel for the purpose of developing and or supplying information to ascertain and achieve processing/engineering requirements.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
§ BS Degree a Plus (Preferably Electrical Engineering Technology )
§ 4 + years of Project Engineering (or related experience).
Level 1 – PLC and DCS
Level 2 –SCADA, and
Level 3 – Database for plant process IS
§ Proven track record in equipment project installation/management.
§ Three years of PLC/HMI programming and control experience.
§ Excellent oral and written communications skills.
COMPENSATION
Base Salary 80k plus or minus depending on Experience
