Strategic Sourcing Manager

› Procurement of raw materials, capital equipment, MRO and services. 

› Multi plant support (all domestic). 

› Data collection and analysis, supply source identification and qualification, negotiation, contract formation and performance analysis. 

› Lead negotiation of freight rates for all company Business Units. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

› Negotiate business unit agreements for raw materials, services and MRO items, both domestically and internationally.

› Manage an $10 million + spend with FTL and LTL common carriers.

› Act as liaison between company and carriers over major disputes or recurring non conformance.

› Point person for data collection leading up to yearly carrier negotiations.

› Develop yearly transportation routing guide.

› Track and report feedstock trends related for assigned commodities.

› Responsible for tracking, reporting and improvement of Supplier Performance.

› Keep management informed regarding market conditions, lead times and shifts in pricing for materials and services.

› Help increase profitability through cost reductions, cost avoidance and timely receipt of materials.

› Drive and participate in initiatives, as established by Corporate Procurement Council.

› Identify, evaluate and recommend high quality, low cost sources of supply.

› Maintain awareness of world marketplace through personal contacts, trade journals and monitoring of world economic conditions.

 

Requires:

› Min 3 years Procurement/Logistics experience in manufacturing

› Track record of increasing responsibility

› Bachelor Required

› Strong Negotiation Skills

› Understanding of today’s transportation markets (domestic & international)

› C.P.M./CPIM Certification Preferred

› MRP system experience
