Position Description:Provides Leadership in the Glass Manufacturing Department (Batch and Furnace Area) of Rocky Mountain Bottle Company. Coordinates best operational practices of Department manufacturing activities, collects, stores,and analyizes data, solves problems and provides operational direction for department personnel. Assures and champions projects and initiatives that meet or exceed departmental goals. Provides leadership and accurately forecasts departmental needs and ensures that the necessary resources are made available to achieve excellent results. Assesses complex process variables and the intricate relationships among them, making decisions that drive manufacturing requirements focused on WCO. 1) Directs the actions and activities of the Raw Material Unloading, Batching, Furnace, and Recycling functions to insure that a 780-ton per day glass production requirement is met. 2) Insures proper and economical raw material inventories are maintained including emergency contingencies by directing commodity purchasing and managing rail and truck deliveries to the facility on a 7-day per week basis throughout the entire year 3) Manages three operating glass melting furnaces for economic efficiency by maintaining proper combustion control techniques and heat balance requirements for varied and specific glass melting demands. 4) Assures all Environmental, Health, Safety, and GMP requirements are in compliance for the department by monitoring equipment operation records for dust control and combustion emissions, directing waste control and abatement strategies. 5) Provides direction to the area Engineering & Maintenance department regarding immediate prioritization of resources weekly as well as initiating and coordinating Major maintenance needs and continuous improvement projects for the department as needed. Plans and coordinates hot repair work . Qualifications:7-10 yrs of Glass Furnace Operations Preferred 5 yrs Supervision ExperienceTechnical and Process experience required.
