Bookkeeper

Job Environment:

We are a small company, family owned since 1866, have 25 employees and are an established Sign Manufacturing Company.  Job environment is a relaxed office setting in downtown San Antonio, TX.  We need an experienced bookkeeper with at least 2 years exp. with QuickBooks.  M-5, 8-5.Standard benefits.

Job Purpose:

Maintain records of financial transactions using QuickBooks by establishing accounts; posting transactions.

Duties:

*Accounts Payable

*Accounts Receivable

*In-House weekly Payroll using QuickBooks

* Work in QuickBooks to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.

* Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

* Daily Balance of subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.

* Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.

* Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

* Maintain historical records by filing documents.

* Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

* Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.

Skills/Qualifications:

Must be experienced with QuickBooks, be able to type 35 wpm, speak English fluently, have good references, have good Data Entry Skills, have good computer skills including Email, experienced with Accounting rules.  Must also be able to be flexible and work in a small company environment.
