Business Support Specialist

 

 

Main Responsibility/Authority:

 

The Business Support Specialist works to support the Global Service organization through direct communication and related projects to maximize efficiencies and the accuracy of service transactions in SAP and other tools.

 

 

Main Tasks:

·  Provide support for the global service organization in the following areas:

o Provide support by troubleshooting error conditions and answering questions regarding service business processes.

o Make the user community more aware of the tools available to them (reports, standard processes, databases, web applications).

o Help develop ways to make us more effective in our use of SAP through training and other methods of communication.

·  Lead or be a team member on projects that focus on reducing the cost of supporting the customer.

o Create specifications for IT to create or enhance tools for automation to make service business processes more efficient.

o Test new processes and applications for use by the service organization and Gerber customers.

o Document and train new and existing business processes and the tools created to make us more efficient.

·  Creation and maintenance of service products in SAP

·  Design, prepare and execute various reports for the service organization.

·  Support the Strategy Deployment Annual Improvement Priorities (AIPs) for Service.

·  Act as a back-up for the Pricing Analyst on pricing issues that need immediate attention.

·  Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

· Educational Background:

o  Applicable Bachelors degree required.  MBA is a plus.

 

· Years of Experience:

o  3 to 5 years experience in a support role (either to external customers or to internal departments).

 

· Special Skills and Abilities:

o  Strong troubleshooting skills.

o  Attention to detail

o  Cross functional team experience.

o  Excellent communication skills, especially written.

o  SAP skills a plus.

o  Gerber Scientific product knowledge a plus.
