In this challenging Buyer / Planner role, you will have responsibility for managing the value stream for Gerber’s aftermarket product lines. Those with experience in SAP (PP/MM modules), and / or experience establishing lean supply chain processes and procedures automatically go to the top of our list!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Procurement of raw materials and finished goods to support the Aftermarket business;

 

Responsibilities will include production planning and sales forecasting (using re-order point planning methods), based on historical data, current business needs and promotions;

 

Focus on continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce cost, reduce inventory, and increase service levels to customers;

Support and resolve of all material shortages, supplier invoice issues, ECO implementation, and MRB issues on a timely basis;

Maintaining integrity of purchase order database through timely updates to delivery dates and quantities;

Maintain all Purchasing master data in SAP on an on-going basis, ensuring accurate information and reporting capability;

Run reports in SAP to manage open orders, past due orders, exception reports (push ins/outs);

Identify and actively pursue cost reduction opportunities with vendors;

Maintaining positive working relationships with both internal and external suppliers and customers and report key metrics to both suppliers and GSO management;



REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field. Minimum of 5 years experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management in an MRP based manufacturing environment, with a global supply and customer base. Must have effective data analysis skills.  Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Access are required. Must have ERP system experience SAP is strongly preferred. APICS Certification preferred. Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and other quality experience is strongly desired. Experience in sales order processing, delivery processing, and inventory management is preferred.

Must be results-driven and posses a sense of urgency with bias for action and speed. Must be able to lead and motivate others to achieve personal and company growth.
