Buyer- Purchasing

 

Reports To: Director of Purchasing

 

Maxitrol Company is currently accepting resumes for a Buyer position at our Southfield Headquarters. The Buyer is responsible for negotiating contracts and buying raw materials and production component parts for manufacturing/assembly plants working within a team environment.

 

 

Essential Job Functions: Initiate requests for quotations for purchased parts/ components to optimize cost savings. Purchasing and maintaining inventory of parts/components at all manufacturing facilities, as well as associated tooling/manufacturing costs to produce parts/components.Maintaining all supplier selection and performance evaluations, including site visitation.Communication with plant production and quality personnel regarding parts/components issues, including production and quality meetings by location.All aspects of Supply Chain Management, and any other various projects as determined by the Director of Purchasing.

Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field1-3 years experience with MRP, contract negotiation, and cost reductionSAP experience preferredStrong oral and written communication skills
