Buyer/Warehouse Supervisor

Distributor of parts for post processing print equipment is looking for a Buyer/Warehouse Supervisor.  This position is important to the success of our company, as it must serve both external and internal customers.  Problem solving skills are essential requirements. 

 

The buyer is responsible for all of the following: Order fulfillment. Inventory management. Vendor negotiations. Cost reductions on all things purchased. Planning and execution of jobs in a small production work center. All indirect purchases (Shipping, Office, Warehouse, and building maintenance). Capital purchases and leases (Office, Warehouse, or IT capital goods). Maintaining schedule and database of all purchased equipment coming from parent company in Germany. All freight in and out of facility. Supervise Shipping Clerk and Knife Grinding

 

Key Duties: Manage Purchasing Queue in Made 2 Manage (M2M – ERP system) on a daily basis. Ensure all delivery dates are updated regularly in M2M. Confirm PO’s (Delivery dates, quantities, pricing and quotes) in system. Expedite orders when necessary. Work with individuals in Germany to resolve delivery issues. Maintain “Available Equipment” and “Equipment Order Status” worksheets in Excel. Schedule production floor jobs for small work center. Resolve “Received Goods” conflicts. Provide monthly Purchasing statistics to Management team. Achieve annual cost reduction goals. Maintain purchasing related data for Item Masters in M2M. Identify and reduce Excess and Obsolete inventory. Provide day to day supervision to Shipping Clerk and Knife Grinder. Schedule shipments with Freight Forwarders. Manage the Backlog (Orders due to ship to customers) Reporting Process. Resolve invoice problems with individual from the Finance Department.

 

Qualifications: Must have in-depth knowledge of MRP planning and execution process. Must have experience with Made 2 Manage (M2M). Is able to manage her/his own time, as well as her/his sub-ordinates’ time. Proven negotiation skills and successes. Problem solver. Good level of knowledge with Microsoft Excel and Word. Should have experience with International shipping, customs and tariffs procedures. Good understanding about Domestic and International LTL (less than full load) freight.
