For more information, go to www.searay.com Sea Ray Boats, Inc.Job Description Job Title: CAD Modeler / System Designer (Level II)Department: EngineeringReports To: Interior Engineering ManagerFLSA Status: Salary, Non-Exempt Prepared Date: 1/28/05Approved By: HR ManagerApproved Date: 11/28/07Salary Grade: 11 or 12 Depending on Experience SUMMARY The CAD Modeler/ System Designer shall be responsible for assisting Platform Team and Core Engineering in the design, detailing and maintenance of 3D Solids Master CAD models for all aspects of development projects from styling through full production support.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.' Documentation ' Develop the documentation for manufacturing, parts and purchasing. Review all documentation for accuracy and compliance to standards. Gather as-built information to insure accuracy of documentation.' Master Model Maintenance - Maintain existing computer model to "as built" to ensure the accuracy of engineering where necessary to facilitate the development of documentation and future development from model.' Arrangements ' Develop the exterior and interior arrangement drawings that specify type and location of all parts and hardware. Assist in the development of interior plan, profile, section and interior joiner and assembly details and construction drawings. ' Part and Material specification ' Develop the drawings for component parts and assist in their selection and purchase between purchasing, engineering and suppliers. Review drawings for accuracy and compliance to drawing standards.' Interior Model Development ' Develop master model of interior areas from sketches, drawings, and renderings as a complete model compatible with all other boat systems. The model shall be used to develop all documentation and parts for prototype development and evaluation.Must follow proper procedures in the safe handling of hazardous wastes, which may be generated during the manufacturing processEDUCATION College level course work in technical area or equivalent experience required. Applicable Associates degree or Technical certificate required. Successful completion of a Skills Assessment Test will be required prior to moving to the next level.WORKING CONDITIONSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see, sit, and use arms, hands and fingers to key and maneuver a mouse on a PC system. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move a variety of materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is low. The employee will frequently be exposed to a heavy manufacturing work environment that includes high noise level and exposure to chemical vapors, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, vibration and electricity. Eye protection is required at all times in the manufacturing environment. Hard hats may be required in certain areas of the work environment. Particle masks, gloves, wrist braces, aprons, back support, ear protection, etc. are available for use. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as equations and graphs and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS NMMA Certification preferredOTHER REQUIREMENTSMust be highly motivated, well organized, and an excellent problem solver, motivator, and decision-maker. Well-developed communication skills. PC proficiency with demonstrated knowledge of MS Office software, groupware programs and web-based applications. Willing to work more than 40 hours per week as necessary to the complete the job. EXPERIENCEA minimum of 5 years of 3D Computer Aided Design preferred (Unigraphics required). A minimum of 5 years of Product Development or Manufacturing experience/knowledge preferred. Boating experience is desired. RESPOND HERE!
