CAD Specialist

Containment Solutions is a leading North American manufacturer or fiberglass composite underground storage tanks. 

 

We currently have an opening at our Conroe, Texas facility for a CAD Specialist.

 

Summary:  To develop product drawings through the use of Computer Aided Design software providing detailed product configuration for use in Research & Development of new products, UL Testing, and to provide technical information to customers in brochures and literature.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Prepares drawings of all existing products and potential new products to provide detail for all product manufacture and development.

 

Provides technical support to customers, contractors, agents and distributors as well as to all levels within the organization to ensure proper utilization and installation of products.

 

Serves as inside sales support assisting customers with overall product knowledge, product availability and pricing and the status of their order.

 

Provides technical information with regard to electronics, product installation, buoyancy, etc. to customers, field service, and contractors to assist with troubleshooting, repairs and to protect product warranty.

 

Assists customers with fitting layouts on tank drawings prior to their production; makes recommendations for changes that may be necessary due to strap locations, tank burial depths, UL limitations.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

 

High School diploma or equivalent experience with formal schooling Computer Aided Design drafting.

Thorough knowledge of how to prepare drawings through Autocad.

Knowledge and understanding of calibration charts, electronic components and wiring diagrams, all information and materials needed for installations, buoyancy information and calculations.

Thorough knowledge of products, manufacturing process, order entry and field service.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to interact with customers, contractors and all levels of individuals within all plants.

Requires excellent computer skills in CAD, spreadsheets, data manipulation, database, and word processing.

Ability to respond to customer’s needs requires flexibility and sensitivity to both internal and external customers.

Proficiency in operating a computer terminal and in Auto cad and other software programs.

Ability to spend almost 80% of time working at a computer terminal and 20% on the phone.
