CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN

 

Horner Electric, Inc; an Equal Opportunity Employer, has an immediate opening for a Calibration Technician.  Horner, headquartered on the near east side of Indianapolis, is a multi-location business with facilities in both Indiana & Ohio.  Horner provides Industrial Sales, Service & Repair of motors, pumps, blowers, and other electrical and mechanical devices.  Services also include machining, metal fabrication, on-site mechanical services, etc.

 

This position reports to the company Quality Manager and will have approximately 15% travel with considerable flexibility in trip scheduling.

THe position is responsible for performance verification, repair, and calibration of electrical and mechanical equipment in an ISO quality environment.

 

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment calibration compliance of ISO standards, selection of repair & calibration vendors, maintaining N.I.S.T. calibration master standards, maintaining calibration records & data base, performing in-house calibrations and coordinating vendor calibrations.   The position will also interface with the Quality, Purchasing & Shop Managers, provide measurement device technical support and expertise  and will assist in ISO audits. 

 

Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years experience in electrical and/or mechanical calibration, repair or servicing.   A 2-year degree or certificate in a mechanical or electrical field would be a plus. 

Good oral & written communication skills and detail record keeping are required as will as MicroSoft Office Suite computer skills.
