Job Title-CI Manager/BB

Location-Bellwood, IL

Division-Alcan Packaging Americas - North America Food Flexible

This position is responsible for deploying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in Batavia and Bellwood in support of Divisional CI goals to promote CI culture and alignment with Alcan’s Integrated Management System.

To advance Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Manufacturing Excellence Basics and Best Practice sharing within CAC and peers across Food Americas. In conjunction with the department managers, define performance goals and standards and implement improvement strategies. Direct and monitor activities related to same. Motivate, direct staff to adopt and employ CI principles. Organize CI activities throughout the plant. Train and coach department staff in CI principles and tools. Evaluate benchmark criteria and apply toward department operations. Meet with crews; explain KPI’s and measurement. Maintain department performance visual displays. This position will be responsible for Capital and Expense projects including problem identification, solution design, cost estimating, RFA preparation, training and closure. This position does not involve direct supervision of another worker.

Achievement of CI savings with the Chicago Area Complex through active management of CI projects, continuous support and reinforcement for functional leaders in the proper use of CI process/tools, and coaching and mentoring of Green Belts.

1. Organize CI activities throughout the plant.

2. Train and coach department operations, meet with crews, explain KPI’s and measurement.

3. Maintain department visual management displays.

4. Provide motivation and direction to Green Belt candidates supporting project goals.

5. Manage CI elements throughout the CAC.

Knowledge of CI Theory and practice (Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing principles). Working experience in deploying CI tools in manufacturing environment. Project management experience and demonstrated leadership skills facilitating cross-function and cross-cultural team projects. Ability to lead multiple projects and communicate at all levels of the organization.

4+ years of manufacturing experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
